Festivale Winter 1997 Liar Liar film review |
Liar Liar |
|
Winsome wishing wins out
Little Max tells the teacher his daddy is a Liar. You know,
it's that job where you go to court and argue stuff and tell lies to your friends
and lovers and co-workers and clients and judges and juries -- and your own son.
When Fletcher Reede (Jim Carrey) breaks
yet another promise and misses his son's birthday party in order to have some relatively ordinary
sex, Max makes a wish. |
His wish: that daddy won't tell a lie for 24 hours comes true with predictably hilarious results.
Jim Carrey in Liar Liar Liar, Liar is a delightful marriage of an actor and a part. Carrey's broad physical comedy is perfectly suited to the larger-than-life more real-than-reality scenario. And Amanda Donohue -- what a great bitch!
See the film, buy the video. It's worth more than one look. |
