Mod Squad capsule movie review

Mod Squad

Born-again television series hits the big screen, this time with Claire Danes, Giovanni Ribisi, and Omar Epps.

Once again Hollywood has trawled through the archives of television for 'content'. TV's Mod Squad was hip, happening, and very much a product and sign of its time.

In the Nineties, the revival of fashions past has emulated the surface, not the substance of times gone by. Today's Mod Squad is a shallow attempt at something that the film-makers don't understand.

The plot is thin, the dialogue and performances lightweight and half-hearted. There are better ways to pass the time than to see this film.
