The Lonely Guy (1984) movie review
Sullenly Single
Lonely guys lose phone numbers. Lonely guys pay too much for haircuts. Lonely guys live alone in apartments with ferns as friends. Larry Hubbard is a lonely guy.
When Larry (Steve Martin) found his girlfriend in bed with someone else, he had a little trouble working out how to cope. When she threw him out, he was lucky enough to meet fellow lonely guy Warren Evans (Charles Grodin) to show him the ropes.
Now Larry is living in an apartment writing his novels when all he knows is how to be a lonely guy.
The Lonely Guy, written, among others, by Neil Simon is a classic New York comedy about what it is like to look for love and friendship in a big city. The story is full of strange coping mechanisms and sight gags and a sweet convoluted love story.
