Because I Said So movie review
Mommy Management
Mothers are supposed to make you feel good about yourself.
Milly (Mandy Moore) is her mother's daughter. She and her sisters are bonded with their mother by singing and rulings. Daphne (Diane Keaton) is a tightly-wound woman who isn't sure when to let go, so she hasn't. As she approaches her 50th birthday, her daughters plan a celebration. What they don't plan is for her plot to find a good man for Milly through the personals will backfire on her and she will discover the possibilities for her own life.
Told largely from the point of view of the youngest daughter, Milly, who is juggling a business and multiple boyfriends, Because I Said So uses a light-hearted movie to look at modern relationships -- those between men and women, and between mothers and daughters.
She's just your normal, overprotective, overbearing, over-the-top mother.
We're not going to celebrate the fact that my life is basically over.
Amusing and occasionally insightful.
