Has your interaction with fans, for example, at conventions, affected your work?
I'm in a band, and before that in the film industry (as an assistant director) so I'm used to how 'famous' people are treated.

The first person who said they'd actually read the story.
Do you have a favourite author or book (or writer or film or series) that has influenced you or that you return to?
Canadian Charles De Lint. I think it is because he writes the sort of stuff that I really like to read. He has actually become a really good friend. Kipling, Shakespeare.
Who is the person you would most like to be trapped in a lift with? or a spaceship?
Shakespeare -- to judge whether he did write the plays. I have to be careful who I would name in case I did get trapped in a lift.

Any politician.
What would you pack for space? (Is there a food, beverage, book, teddy bear, etc that you couldn't do without?)
Music and books. Guitar absolutely. My wife.
What is the most important thing you would like to get/achieve from your work?
To have other people enjoy it. To have other people come and say to me that they actually enjoyed it.
What is the special satisfaction of your work?
Perhaps to have someone enjoy it as much as I enjoyed doing it.
