Ice Storm
Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline are among the well-known actors in the 1970s period piece. An adaptation of the novel by Rick Moody. Directed by Ang Lee whose work we last saw in Sense and Sensibility who says, "I think you get a sense of people reaching for something before they know the consequences." Ice Storm has an interesting texture, a noir film set in a white environment. A true tragedy demonstrates the results that come from 'tragic' flaws in a protagonist's nature. In this film, the flaws are in the characters, and in their relationships. Ice Storm has all the charm and fascination of a car wreck and leaves the audience shocked |
