Bowfinger

Bobby Bowfinger is a writer-producer of no films. He knows what the succesful look like, and he knows the sign of a man who has made it. One day a FedEx truck will pull up in front of his decrepit combination home and production house and deliver an urgent envelope. He believes he has the script (written by an accountant Adam Alexi-Malle), a lead actress (Christine Baranski), and a DOP who can cunningly 'borrow' the necessary equipment.

After a masterly masquerade he talks his way into a deal with a distributor (Robert Downey Jr) if he can attach big-time action star Kit (Keep It Together) Ramsey to the film.
