The Banger Sisters (2002) movie review
Forever Friendships
Suzette (Goldie Hawn) tends bar and has sex with musicians. Lavinia Kingsley (Susan Sarandon) has a conservative, wealthy suburban life with a husband and two kids. That's now. But twenty years ago they were famous rock groupies known as the Banger Sisters.
When Suzette hits rock bottom she heads for Vinnie to find help and to rekindle memories of their glory days. She finds a life of privilege and shallow relationships. On the way she also meets Harry (Geoffrey Rush) a writer who is on his way, with a gun, to confront his father.
Although it seems like Suzette is the one at a loose end, she brings new meaning to lives of Vinnie and Harry.
Vinnie shocks and surprises her family and challenges them and herself to accept a more vibrant woman. Suzette brings adventure and new life to those she meets, but can she find happiness and fulfilment for herself?
Not just an amusing film, but a look at how the baby boom generation is handling their fifties.
