The Ghost Writer (2010) movie review
The Unseen Hand
A ghost writer (Ewan McGregor) is hired to rewrite the memoirs of a British ex-Prime Minister Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan). Within days they are under siege as the politician is accused of war crimes for turning British subjects over to the Americans for interrogation.
Directed by Roman Polanski, The Ghost Writer is a classically-styled mystery drama set in a cold concrete beach house beside a cold grey sea.
We follow the ghost as he investigates clues left by his dead predecessor and finds connections between Lang and the C.I.A.
This movie is capably presented, written and performed, however it is in need of a stiff editing.
Interesting to watch it stops short of being compelling because of the dragging pace.
