The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013) movie review

She Can See Demons

space

This movie was very much a teen flick with lots of action, sort of a story line and apparently there are six books in the series. It's a very generic fantasy with vampires, demons and people of mixed bloodlines that can see them.

The lead female character is a young woman coming of age and resisting efforts to restrict/restrain her powers and knowledge of them. The lead male character finds her by accident in a club and is surprised she can see him.

We then have the usual boy meets girl, other people are jealous of girl, some demon fighting and finding, lots of teen angst.

There is a world hidden within our own.

Did I mention, very much 90210 with demons, vampires and other fantasy elements, including werewolves?

An enjoyable flick, nothing too demanding in the brain department, lots of action, lots of apparent deus ex machina, lots of things happening without explanation, but still kept me amused :)
