Leann Sweeney is an American author of 'cosy mysteries'. She also has a degree from the University of Houston in behavioral science and worked for many years in psychiatry and as a school nurse; she now writes full time.

Has your interaction with fans, for example, at conventions, affected your work?

Their enthusiasm for the books is amazing.

Is there any particular incident (a letter, a meeting, a comment that stands out?

I took a 5 day writing workshop with Elizabeth George. I believe if I hadn't attended, I wouldn't be writing book #13 now.

Do you have a favourite author or book (or writer or film or series) that has influenced you or that you return to?

Agatha Christie forever!

Who is the person you would most like to be trapped in a lift with? or a spaceship?

Not a person. It would be my new kitten named Lynley

Who is the person you would most DISlike to be trapped in a lift with? Or a spaceship?

Any politician.

What would you pack for space? (Is there a food, beverage, book, teddy bear, etc that you couldn't do without?)

My pillow.

What is the most important thing you would like to get/achieve from your work?

The process first, but reader feedback is a close second.

What is the special satisfaction of your work?

When I include a character that I'm unsure about, his or her presence always ends up vital to the mystery. This always reinforces my trust in the subconscious part of writing.
