Ian Irvine Series Page
The Way Between the Worlds
"Once there were three worlds, each with its own human race. Then, fleeing from out of the void came a fourth race, the Charon. Desperate, on the edge of extinction, they changed the balance between the worlds forever..."
Ian Irvine set a precedent, releasing all four books of this cycle in about a year. The final book was released at Aussiecon 3 in Melbourne, where we were able to ask him the Usual Questions (interview project).
Ian is an environmental scientist, and he approaches his 'fantasy' worlds with a scientific rigor. His worlds have carefully crafted climates, topography, and people.
The first four books complete the cycle. At the time of our interview, Ian's next book was expected to use the same world, but set some years after the end of the current cycle.
