Short reviews in Reading Matters this month:
Mrs. Kaplan and the Matzoh Ball of Death (Mark Reutlinger)
Mark Reutlinger
I'm going out on a limb here and suggesting this is a cozy mystery. Two elderly Jewish ladies in a retirement home set out to solve the mystery of the death of another resident, face down in Mrs Kaplan's chicken soup.
Sprinkled with yiddish (?) terms, all explained, this short novel follow the ladies as they gently, but not necessarily gracefully, investigate. Rita Mae Brown described the book as "Too deliciously funny!", but I didn't find it amusing at all, just a straightforward mystery set in a specific culture.
