Innerspace movie review
A Small Adventure
Jack Putter is having the best and worst day of his life.
Tuck Pendleton (Dennis Quaid), a washed-up tom cat pilot is testing a new ride -- a sub that can be miniaturised and injected into the human body (shades of The Fantastic Voyage).
The love of his life, Lydia (Meg Ryan), is a journalist who is finished with his hard drinking ways.
But things aren't over for Tuck and Lydia. They cross the paths of the hypochondriac Jack Putter (Martin Short) and contract killer The Cowboy (Robert Picardo) when Tuck and his machine are injected into the backside of Putter.
When things are at their darkest, pal, it's a brave man who can kick back and party. Jack, let the good times roll.
Putter is about to get a lesson in living life to the full from Pendleton, and Pendelton is going to learn that there are things more important than partying and riding the zero-defect Tuck Pendelton machine hard and fast.
Innerspace is a science fictional adventure with the spies-stealing-technology plot. Its a fun ride with the technology acting as a plot device, not the plot itself.
Despite the hair styles, the film still holds up as an adventure / buddy story.
