Janet Evanovich Series Page
Motor Madness and Miami/Alex Barnaby & Hooker
In Metro Girl Janet Evanovich introduces Alex Barnaby, a blonde who loves pink and can beat anything mechanical into submission. In true Evanovich tradition, Alex meets Hooker, a NASCAR driver who has far too much confidence (and money), and together they embark on an investigation into where her brother has taken Hooker's yacht.
The Alex Barnaby series has all the hallmarks of an Evanovich series, it's light, bright, sexy and moves along well.
This time, instead of Lula, our heroine has two idiosyncratic sidekicks, a pair of cigar ladies.
It's insubstantial fun, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it would be better if the series was a little more differentiated from the wildly successful Stephanie Plum (Numbers) series.
