The Cat Who Brought Down the House, Lillian Jackson Braun |
The Cat Who Brought Down the House
Koko, Yum Yum and Qwill are back in this quirky story of Moose County's inhabitants.
Thelma Thackery, now in her 80s, returns with her companion from decades elegantly feeding Hollywood. She opens a Film Club, setting up her nephew as manager. When Koko takes an instant dislike to the nephew, we know that some infamy is afoot.
While Qwill takes part in the Kit Kat Revue to raise money for local kitties, he also takes the time to nose into Thackery history. Will he convince Thelma of her nephew's bad behaviour in time to save her unnecessary pain and embarassment.
Not an adventure, and barely and investigation, this volume of the Cat Who adventures is a tale of Moose County.
Amusing and entertaining, but a little heavy on the Short and Tall Tales inclusions.

Brrr township is 200 years old and Qwill is back on the road with a show -- this time recounting the great storm of 1913. His erstwhile assistant Lish has Koko hissing. Could she be connected with the unidentified body on Klingenschoen property?
Another Moose Country story where Qwill is more interested in conducting his comfortable daily life than investigating crime.
